Education program · Belgium

52 schools. 52 weeks. One mission.

Teach tomorrow's technicians to work by industry safety standards, today. IsoLedger brings professional LOTOTO principles, hands-on kit and digital safety procedures straight to technical schools.

Why 52 in 52

Safety doesn't start on the first day of the job.

Electrical installations, machines and production environments keep getting smarter and safer. But human preparation, clear instructions, correct documentation and safely isolating energy still decide whether a shift ends without incident.

The students in a workshop today are the maintenance technicians, engineers and technical leads of our industry in two to five years. We want Lockout Tagout to be default behaviour by then, not a vague safety concept.

All content aligns with the Golden 7 & Golden 8. The exact same procedure used across Belgian industry today.

"

Safely isolating energy should feel as natural as putting on safety shoes.

Who it's for

Technical education that wants safety hands-on.

Adapted to the level, discipline and workshop installations of each participating school.

A.01

Labour-market track

LOTOTO principles, risk analysis, LMRA and hands-on execution. Directly aligned with real-world work-floor practice.

A.02

Dual finality

LOTOTO and practical execution, extended with deeper technical study of electrical installations.

A.03

Applied universities

Digital LOTOTO, asset structures, risk analysis and maintenance processes woven into the curriculum.

A.04

Universities

Safety processes, engineering, asset management and digitalisation of energy isolation at academic level.

The program

No classic theory class. Understand, do, experience.

Theory Practice Digital Industry
STEP 01

Awareness

Interactive guest lecture

Electrical risks, electrocution, short-circuits and arc flash. Why LOTOTO matters, backed by figures, video and cases from industry.

  • Electrification & electrocution
  • Short-circuit & arc flash
  • Risk analysis & LMRA
  • Real industry cases
STEP 02

Risk analysis

Prepare an intervention

Students prepare a real or fictional intervention together with an engineer. They learn to identify hazards and energy sources.

  • Identify hazards
  • Recognise energy sources
  • Draft the work description
  • Understand responsibilities
STEP 03

Hands-on LOTOTO

Physical procedure

Students perform a full Lockout Tagout procedure on a real board. Following the Golden 7 and Golden 8.

  • Identify & de-energize
  • Isolate & lock out
  • Tagout
  • Verify absence of voltage
  • Release & switch back on
STEP 04

Digital LOTOTO

IsoLedger platform

The procedure is rebuilt and executed digitally in IsoLedger. Exactly the same principles they'll meet in industry later.

  • Model the assets
  • Build the procedure
  • Scan the QR code
  • Generate the audit log

Every step follows the Golden 7 and Golden 8. The same procedure used across Belgian industry today.

What the school gets

What a participating school gets.

IsoLedger licence

An annual Education Licence to use IsoLedger in the classroom.

Unlimited users

Every teacher and student on board, no per-seat limit.

Hands-on training

A practical LOTOTO training session, adapted to the school's level.

A session from the field

An engineer from industry shares real-world cases and experience.

What students get

From theory to a safety reflex.

Insight into electrical risks
Experience with risk analysis and LMRA
Hands-on practice with LOTOTO
Working with professional LOTO gear
Familiarity with digital safety procedures
Understanding of roles & responsibilities
Experience that maps to future jobs
Bonus
Personal LOTO kit
Subject to availability: one IsoLedger padlock per student.
Beyond a padlock on a breaker

Model the entire electrical installation.

Schools can use IsoLedger to build their own installation digitally, so students see the whole system and understand how an intervention on one board affects everything downstream.

Bridging education & industry

Two initiatives, one mindset.

52 in 52 builds on the wider commitment Lightstream has to technical education. Each year Lightstream runs the STEM Challenge, where engineers act as a sounding board for schools and their technical projects.

With 52 in 52 the same idea is applied to safety: make professional knowledge, tools and technology from industry directly available to education.

We want the gap between education and industry to be as small as possible.

What the first school says
"

Thanks to the new ‘ISOLEDGER’ application, safety becomes literally visible and traceable, from the LOTOTO procedure to the ‘Vital 8’. It put us all on edge. This guest lecture by LightStream was an important wake-up call that we need to bridge theory and practice already in school. Only by investing intensively today do we turn safety into an essential habit for the future.
